Description
Minox 5 is indicated in the treatment of male and female pattern baldness, known as androgenetic alopecia, and in the treatment of alopecia areata, commonly known as pelada.
Active substance: Minoxidil 50mg/ml.
Dosage and method of administration:
It is intended for external use only, for application on the scalp, twice a day (12/12h), on completely dry hair. The dose for each application is 1 ml of solution (corresponding to 30 drops), whatever the area to be treated, spreading the medicine from the center to the periphery with your fingers. The recommended daily dose is 2 ml and should not be exceeded as there is a risk of causing systemic effects. The treatment lasts about a year, after which the best results are observed. The use of 5% minoxidil should be discontinued if after 4 months of use there is no hair growth. To continue to improve and maintain the benefits achieved, applications should be continued twice a day after the attack phase, which can last about 6 months.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Patients with arterial hypertension or cardiovascular disease, namely coronary insufficiency (possible systemic effects if significant absorption occurs). Individuals with scalp psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, sunburn, scalp irritation or abrasion. Pregnancy and lactation.

In accordance with current legislation, non-prescription medicines in Portugal can only be delivered to the municipalities of Maia, Gondomar, Matosinhos, Porto, Santo Tirso, Trofa, Valongo and Vila do Conde. This limitation does not apply to shipments to other Member States of the European Union.
